God created man in His own image

Gen 1:26 -28

And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. 1:27 And God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 1:28 And God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

This is where man begins! This is our Genesis. The God head planned and purposed and did created man to be in the likeness of his (God) image. Just to mention a critical point on the phrase “let us” indicates number more than one, which shows God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. On this context we see creation, not formation of man out of dust. As you well know man not yet formed and don’t exist on the physical world yet. This is the knowledge which needs to be thought, yet totally ignored by Christianity. But this is where the truth which unlocks the intention of God for creating Man, and also that unlock who we are. Our true identity!

It is amazing the enemy wants us to be blind and not to know who we really are. The reason he does this, it is an unbearable defeat and loss for him. May God enlighten our eyes and see who really we are. As you well read on verse 1:27 says, “And God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them,” the phrase “let us” on verse 26 became a past tense on verse 27,”…created him … created them.”

The question which should be asked is what is the image of God?

As it is documented very well throughout the bible, the only God head revealed with image is our Lord Jesus. So, when the God head saying, “let us create man in our image,” it is in the image of Lord Jesus.

In the book of John chapter 14 Phillip asked a question, “Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father and it is sufficient for us.” vs.8   And, “Jesus said to him, Have I been so long a time with you, and you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how is it that you say, Show us the Father?” vs. 9. And Paul on his epistle to the Colossians described our Lord, “…Who is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of all creation,” 1:15

Man is created in the image of God, which is our Lord Jesus. In the realm where God does exist, God created them both man and woman! Woman? Yes God created the woman too! This is not formation out of the dust, but creation! My sisters you are created with the man at the same time! This is the Gospel we preach! Christianity preached the Gospel after the fall. This is not religion it is identity.
